About
Markus Ello was born in Chicago, Illinois and was a singer/songwriter of the musical group Your Neighbors in the early 90s. Your Neighbors released two albums and garnered a loyal Midwest following. The group opened for such notable acts as Wilco, Aimee Mann, Squeeze, The Jayhawks, The Lemonheads and others. The group disbanded in 1996.
In 1997, Markus completed his unreleased solo album Good Side which was backed by well-known Chicago area musicians including Chris Funk of The Decemberists.
In 2000, Markus formed 3 Tone Green and recorded the unreleased Breaking Solar Wind with noted indie-rock producer Keith Cleversley (The Flaming Lips, Hum, Mercury Rev, The Posies, Spiritualized, etc.).
In 2006, Markus reunited with the original members of Your Neighbors, but added the piano and vocal work of Evelyn Finch of Iowa’s Frankenixon. Tracks from these sessions along with other home studio recorded tracks are being completed currently, and another record set to be recorded.
Markus now resides in Bloomington, Indiana where he is completing a Ph.D. in American Literature. Area musicians Jonathon Yaeger, Stephen Harms, and Tom Berich have contributed to the most recent recordings
