Your Neighbors formed in October 1991 and began playing shows around Northwest Indiana. Front Porch Music in Valparaiso was very supportive of the band in the early years. Their first cassette, Fish Opera, was released in 1992. In 1993, the bad released another cassette, Bi-Phase, and then later re-released this album on CD. During this time, the band held self-promoted shows in Valparaiso, and began performing in Chicago, and throughout central Indiana and Illinois. In 1995, the group was signed to Street Gold Records, an independent label run by Henry Farag, vocalist in the acapella doo-wop group Stormy Weather, and his brother Omar Farag, a local concert promoter.
Your Neighbors recorded their second full-length album, Roswell at Blue Star Studios in Gary, Indiana. In 1996, the group disbanded, and its members went to work on individual projects. Bob Bihlman performed with The Fireshow, Indoor Boy, Annie Quick, Land of Lincoln, among others. Drake Blinco formed the group Long Division which also included Bob Bihlman on drums; he is currently a member of Honda Pavarotti. George T. Drag moved to Atlanta, Georgia and was a member of Butterflies and is still working with Bryan Cilliberto under the band name Tux. Mark Cassello recorded three unreleased solo records with members of The DeMilos, Indoor Boy, and other Chicago-area musicians.
