Wooves is three old friends writing & recording in a dank basement, crowded dining room, or sitting on the floor passing the horn. We released two full-length cassettes in the past three years; LP3 is on the horizon.

Wooves new LP, YAWN, was written and recorded live by the band in 4 separate basement sessions, with selected overdubs engineered over the course of May to November 2012. The finished album is part garage-pop and part basement-skronk, part coming-of-age anthem and part reactionary-Iggy-posing. Plaintive, reticent vocal cues share space with wobbly, dissonant organ workouts. Tonally dark, ennui-weighted passages melt into open-space anti-bridges and hummable choruses alike. YAWN is rock-and-roll taken off the highway, and followed at dusk through the half-empty side-streets, gritty Midwest alleys, and quiet fields flooded with the last rays of navel-orange sunlight.
YAWN will be released digitally and in a limited physical format in early 2013.
