Started in 1999 off of former Indianapolis hardcore band EIC, Jim Fix was an emo/post-punk band based largely out of Bloomington, IN. Their sound, built off of poppy hooks and huge drum parts, progressed from poppy emo to grungy post-punk by the end of the band. Jim Fix played heavily in Central Indiana, but played shows throughout the Midwest from Appleton, WI to Virginia Beach, VA. They shared stages often with friends Brazil (Muncie, IN), Lights Over Bridgeport (N. Indiana), Ultimate Fakebook (Manhattan, KA) and pretty much anyone else who came through the area at the time. Jim Fix self-released a number of recordings, most notably "Amplify" in 2001. The last official recording came in 2004 "Bad Kids Like..." before breaking up after the tragic death of bassist Joey Ours. A post-humous incomplete recording "Jim Fix The END" was never released, and is only featured on Musical Family Tree.

By far the best recording and production we ever put down on tape. Recorded over a few days at Azmyth Studios with Ryan Adkins, "Amplify" was Jim Fix\'s most widely distributed and recognizable recording. At least some of the songs on this EP were played through every period of the band. Also worth noting, the original version of this recording featured very different artwork and the title "Never Ending Road to Forever", but after the first batch of them went out, the band scrapped it for the more simple artwork and the title "Amplify".

 The last official Jim Fix recording. This was recorded 100% live and the production is poor, somewhat intentionally. The band was going through a radical change with Joey Ours taking over bass duties and helping with some songwriting. We were going from the poppy emo that we started with into harder more aggressive songs. Although rough in spots, this is a good time capsule of where the band was headed and of our live sound.

The END

"The End" is a posthumous recording of the last few songs that Jim Fix were playing at the end of our run. This was actually recorded months after we lost Joey during an attempt to see if we could still play together through the heartbreak, with one guitar and Matt on bass. We decided during the recording that we couldn\'t so it was left as is. While noticably incomplete (the vocals were never finished), it represents musically the best writing that the band did as well as some of the better recording we ever put together. No one outside of the band has ever heard this material. I\'m putting it up because it sounds great and it reminds me of a time right before everything fell apart. 

The lineup for this recording is Patrick on drums, Matt on guitar/bass, and Jim on vocals/guitar/bass.
