Good afternoon and welcome to a playlist with a largely meaningless title. I'll tell you this much: you come in my direction with some kinda electronic beat, some kinda synthy pad, some kinda heavy-ass kick drum, and I'm gonna hop on whatever train you're driving. So, pursuant to that love of trains and of electronic music, I've brought to you, dear friends, lovely readers, a list of 10 tracks culled from the MFT archive. All of them have some sort of affiliation with a musical genre you'd probably call "electronic." That's the ticket.
We range all the way from the semi-ambient of Kids in Rain and Dany Suzukee, to the heavy thunk of Jangatha and absolute-trax, to the jittery shattery crunch-ups of +platform and Chicagao Bulls Hat. The MFT archive is constantly, constantly surprising me with how much of just about everything there is inside.
If you've found yourself in a rut lately, maybe this one will help crack you out. I realize that the imagery of a rut mixes not so neatly with the train metaphor I introduced up top, but I'm not worried about it. It's the summer, I'm warm at my desk, and I'm trancing out to Musk Swim.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
