Lots of new good stuff on this month's Short Walk playlist, but if you think of this playlist like a sandwich and the first and last songs as the bread, then, like usual, I'm maybe the most pumped about the bread: new tracks from Black Kaspar and Grxzz. It's wild to think that it was literally two years ago that I rhapsodized about Grxzz's Commander of the Beast Realm, but such is the nature of reality. His new one, Digital Bath, just dropped and it goes hard, friends. Give the guy some cash on Bandcamp; he deserves it.
And, weirdly enough, it was also almost exactly 2 years to the day ago when I, too, sang the praises of a live set from Steve Good and Bill Zink. Turns out Zink's Black Kaspar is back at it; watch your back when you listen to "Escape!" because who knows what's lurking. If you find yourself in and around Louisville on March 18th, you'd be remiss to skip the release party the band's got planned for their Year of the Centipede tape.
And yeah, confession, that track called "Spring Smells" from that mystery band Perfect Teeth may or may not be a band I myself was once in. But that was over two years ago, and like I said, reality's a mystery and time's just one big giant joke. Those fellers were fun to play with and I hope you like the song.
Stay tuned for our next guest playlist coming in two weeks. If you miss it I'll be mad and you'll be mad. Everyone will be a little mad, honestly. It's a mad world.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
