Fair warning: this playlist kicks off with a fair bit of intentional whiplash. First up is my pal Dylan Wright, hailing from the very same high school as me, and currently making it work in New York, "Iron Gates" is a gentle lilt of a song that will wrap itself around you. I've got a fond memory of him playing a show in my living room a few years ago, strumming away quietly, tugging at you to lean in. That's how this song rolls too.
Right after Dylan gets finished, though, The Wise Man's Fear kicks everything over that's in reach with a blistering scorch. Snarl. Scrape. So on. And then Haole Wolf brings us almost full circle, in a cock-eyed sort of way, with a Tin Pan alley-style little song.
I am perpetually astonished at the whiplash that just skimming through MFT's archvie can induce. We've got such an array and it's getting wider all the time. If you don't believe me, please revisit my first two paragraphs, or consider checking out our radio feature up in the top left hand corner of this window.
As always, I offer thanks to Smalbox for helping to make these weekly playlists possible!
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
