If you predicted that this week's playlist would take a spooky turn in honor of the upcoming spooky holiday, you will receive exactly zero prizes in the mail because the spooky turn was about the most predictable thing imaginable. OF COURSE this week will take a spooky turn. Have you met me? I love spooky turns. I basically live for spooky turns.
Anyway, we're welcomed gently into the funhouse by Norman Oak, introducing the soft rattle of the extra "k" at the end of the word "magic" and all the attendant sorcery (the majority of which never goes well after the spooky turn). We then travel through an array dark, dank, dim, and dastardly sounds from the likes of Bad Psychic, Gnaw Bone, Black Kaspar, and more.
Look: I can't tell you what to do, but I'd certainly like to try. Take this playlist with you to whatever spooktacular you're planning to attend this weekend. Bring a speaker too, if you have to. Set the thing up in a dark room with a single chair and invite people to join you in the room to discuss a business proposition. Once you've got them in there, shut the door and leave them alone with the clangor and their thoughts. They might freak out at first, but soon enough they'll be thanking you for taking their holiday to the next level while simultaneously introducing them to some great Indiana music. What could be better?
Stick with us next week for a markedly less frightening playlist. Until then, let us offer up our thanks to Smallbox for their weekly support.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
