So the other evening, my phone lets off a little buzz and lights up becuase there's a message inside from some mysterious number (weird symbols, the whole trip). Two of them, actually. The first one's just a link to Youtube. The second says, "Turn off all your lights, turn the audio up as high as you can, and watch this video alone in your living room." So I obeyed. You can, too.
Anyway, anyway, anyway: in my playlist-making brain, the chain-rattling meltdown of a video got me thinking about other stuff that I could imagine texting me mysteriously and telling me to post up in my living room in the dark with the volume turned up high. I thought of absolute-trax, the kick drums mostly. I thought of the weird and winding sound-offs of Magnificent Reflections (who I tried to review once). I thought of Resting Rooster and the one time I saw them whisper out at a basement crowd right before some punk band that I might've been in rudely rocked the odd boat they'd built till it tipped.
I thought of a lot of other things, too, things I won't try to transcribe here. Just vibe with the playlist I made and pray that the snow doesn't come to soon this season.
