Hey there bucko, did you forget our Music Video in a Day series? Well it didn't forget about you, that's for sure, and it's coming straight for you, so watch out.
Running Bodies returns to the game, ably directing the smooth and almost breathless flow of Cloud Malenko, the BORED.-affiliated emcee, in a video for "Calamity (MonsoonBoy)." This one's simple, light, airy all the way through. Filters cross one another as they dissolve, all while Malenko's flow eases over itself in what very nearly feels like an unending exhale. The verbal fireworks here aren't the showy kind. They're the kind where we find ourselves at the end of the track a little bit overwhelmed with all the words pinging off the windshield. "How'd he fling all that out and make it look that easy?" We'll never know because we're all floating in an ether of separated bone boxes, but we can sure as ever watch the video again because it went down easy the first time, and it'll go down even easier on time number two.
"Calamity" comes off of his recently-released VESSEL EP. I've taken the liberty of embedding that above (I'm hoping no one will mind, given the fact that it's streaming free and easy over on Soundcloud). If you're in the market for more BORED.-related action, don't miss our live recording of their set at Indy CD & Vinyl last summer, Seth Johnson's in-depth Q&A with Flaco, or Flaco's IKWYDLS release via our MFT Preservation Series.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
