Monday has once again rolled around and once again I have collected some hot jams into a cool, cool playlist casing. Come 6pm today I'll be keeping an eye out behind me because my boy Greg Lindberg (a.k.a. Teen Brigade) will make his from the city he owns (i.e. Lafayette) to the city that I own (i.e. Indianapolis). He's playing on the circle as part of the ongoing Listen Hear-sponsored Mellow Mondays concert series.
Thursday night the State Street Pub is going to get noisy. It's called Noise Box Night to take out the guesswork, and it'll feature Natty Morrison, Squirming (disclosure: my band), Matt Hagan, and John Flannelly in what might be one of his final performances in Indianapolis for a while. I dropped a Flannelly track and a We are Hex track (Hagan's band) in the playlist and I'd like to politely request that you get there.
What about Friday? WHAT ABOUT FRIDAY! Friday you can head down to Bloomington and catch Sirius Black, Mathaius Young, Jeron Braxton, Nagasaki Dirty, Drayco McCoy, and PRXZM if you want (I know you do). Or, you can stay around the Indianapolis parts and check out Antenna Man at 12:30 and HNRYFRD at 5:00 on Monument Circle. Actually, if you drive efficiently, you can probably make it to both of these, and maybe even make a friend or two in the process.
And holy crap, Saturday is about to pop off like you wouldn't even believe. Golden Moses and Hen are playing a free cosmic drag dance party DJ'd by Jesse Lee of Pravada. Hang on, let me flip on the ole caps lock to make sure you get it. FREE COSMIC DRAG DANCE PARTY. It's at the State Street Pub. Don't blow this.
Thanks, as ever, to Smallbox, for helping to make these weekly playlists possible.
Help us spread Indiana music, and we'll give you special rewards as our way of saying "thanks!"
