Before you tell me I'm a day late, let me tell you something bucko: sometimes I do things! Sometimes I roll out of this lovely state we call home to another state that others call home. And sometimes when I do that I go to a beach or find myself doing some light trespassing or even maybe, I don't know, I sometimes find myself wedging sticks into chain link fences to keep little kids from running off. But then I always find myself coming back and making more playlists. It's a strange loop.
This one's got new, recent additions to the archive from the likes of Chemical Bomb Police, Hex Mundi, and Special K & the 6-Step (a.k.a. Kaiton Slusher whose MFT-hosted corpus must surely now outpace that of at least eight to ten less prolific artists). And there is yet another new IN Cover reporting in, this time it's Jared Birden covering Marmoset, a band I've also included in the playlist.
Everything after that Marmoset jam has been up for at least a minute, but is still new to me. Some of it, like Dreams of Reason and Ari Ari (the latter of which close out the mix with a straight scream), I've got memories of scrolling past and for some reason not clicking, but others of it I'd entirely missed. We're closing in on a year's worth of these here mixtapes, and I'm still finding entirely new surprises all the time. If that's not a testament to how cool this whole archive deal is, I don't know what is.
