Well, golly. Number 20? That means I've put 200 total songs out of the bottomless MFT archive in playlists just like this over the last 20 weeks. I don't wanna think too hard about it. The passage of time freaks me out, especially because I've been sick this week and thinking really hard about how many hours I've watched just slip by laying on my bed.
Playlist opener Eisenhower Field Day are yet another brand new discovery for me from deep in the caverns of the archive. They sound like a shoegaze band riffing on Superchunk or something. Follow them where they lead you. There's a new recording from Rob Funkhouser in there that he calls a "deconstructionist live set, recorded in front of an audience of zero." It's 17 minutes of Funkhouser whipping through electronic textures; carve out some time. Other new stuff in there from Adam Kuhn and Digital Dots butting up against older stuff from Winechuggers and Cowboy Angels. It's a veritable grab bag LIKE ALWAYS!
Tune in next week for playlist number 21. I guarantee it will be at least as good as this one, if not even better! I also guarantee I'll be feeling less sick and so my post about the playlist will likely contain at least a few more jokes. Ok, actually, no promises on that front, but fingers crossed.
