Again again we are comin' in hot with a fresh episode of the Purple Pyramid Club. On this one our boy Grey Granite chills out for a minute, making way for his alien-voiced guest host TrillBeatNik No. 41 to catch up with The Bluntist--the proprietor and namesake of The Bluntist, a Tumblr and Instagram social media empire dedicated to testing "cigars, cigarillos, wraps, and blunts, so you, the consumer, don't have to." Product reviews, y'all!
TrillBeatNik and the Bluntist cover a lot of ground in between the bangers here. They go off on how to roll with hash tags on Instagram, on 22 Jump Street and The New Girl, conspiracy theories about the Denver airport, and how The Bluntist approaches his reviews. "We don't like to judge, we like to review," the Bluntist says. The conversation ebbs and flows in and out of rabbit trails, the way I'm sure you, reader, yes you, are perfectly familiar from any number of middle of the night chill outs. What's the Bluntist's favorite blunt? Listen up to find out!
There's a wide array of tracks featured here, opening up with The Hundreds' future-shocked West Coast slip, and closing down with Juan Blanco (of the Milky Way Vandals) on "The Butcher." There's "1301" on there too, a little bit of a throwback from John Stamps off of 2012's Peaces tape. It bounces, all of it.
