Amid the stream of fresher than fresh jams from the likes of Jo Univeral, Process My Office, Chicago Bull Hat, and Hair Peace, we've got two tracks on the playlist this week that have been in the archive for at least a minute or two. "Ego is a Too Much Thing" from Datura Seeds closes the playlist out. It's a sort of ragged take on a new wavey/punk sound sourced from the late 1980s and the early 1990s and brought forth by the likes of known-quantities Paul Mahern and Vess Ruthenberg. The band just has two songs in the archive, but they're both fire.

Then, in what is surely not a coincidence at all, "Mr. Neil Young" by HEN opens up the playlist. HEN have a very special edition of MFT's Music Video in a Day series coming out soon (check out the most recent video in the series here--it's for a Drayco McCoy track and was directed by Running Bodies Productions). It's for the track "Bubblegum Purse," and on Monday, February 9 (mere days from now!) General Public Collective in Fountain Square will host a video debut part clicking off hard at 8 pm. Get all the details from the Facebook event.

The video was directed by Sesseka (a.k.a. Jessica Dunn of BrainTwins) and Lisa Fett, and it stars Lisa Berlin and Aimee Brown (a.k.a., HEN). Looking to make sure you're totally ready for whatever sensory streams will coming right at you as you post up in the viewing area? You're in luck, because I've embedded a very special sneak peak of the video above. Watch it. Prepare yourself. Get pumped.
