About

Richard Fudge and Don Staley began their songwriting codependency in the late 1980s while performing in local girl-group dance band Hormones a Go Go Featuring the Fabulous Creamettes. By 1990, Hormones a Go Go had gone gone, and so Fudge and Staley regrouped as The Nailbiters and cooked up an all original, nine-song cassette titled "Ham" in 1991. During a period of weakness the next year, drummer Dennis Leas (Stone Soup, Dr. Fine and d'Gleet) and bassist Joe Salmons (The Frogs) joined The Nailbiters for several performances in Lafayette, Indianapolis, and Muncie, Indiana. The group brewed up eleven new original songs for their 1993 CD "Two Dogs Drink." Graphic designer John Frigo made the mistake of creating CD art work and layout, and has awakened every night since drenched in sweat and screaming like a little girl. Fudge and Staley regrouped with the US Postal Service and continued their little addiction after Staley moved to Georgia in 1992.
The band's name was born on New Year's Eve when Fudge, Reason, and Kellam performed blindfolded as The Prannies. In 1997, The Prannies released the twelve song cassette "Hootie Tootie." By 2002, Staley had rejoined Fudge and Reason. The least unfortunate result was the 2004 EP "Roundy." Shortly thereafter, Reason lured bassist Steve Wolf (East of Eden) to a pit in his basement and the quartet set to work performing and recording new original songs. The result was the 2006 EP "Splat!" The Prannies are currently at work on a full length CD of new original songs which will probably be complete sometime in 2008... maybe...
