About
Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Healing Sixes have become one of today's top US-based independent rock bands. Consisting of members Doug Henthorn (vocals, guitar), Eric Saylors (guitar), Wade Parish (drums), and Jeff Stone (bass), the group have just released their fourth record, 'Blue Jay' - one of the group's most organic and stylistically diverse releases to date. Since the inception of the band in 1998, Healing Sixes have been recording and touring steadily in support of their four full length releases - "Maple" (1999), "Enormosound" (2001), "One Less Friend to Ignore" (2007), and the aforementioned "Bluejay" (2010). Healing Sixes have had a number of personnel changes and affiliations throughout it's lifetime. Drummer Jason Bonham was a member for four years, and Joe Bonamassa, Pat Thrall, Tony Levin and Anton Fig have all made guest performances on Healing Sixes recordings. Through all of these incarnations, Doug Henthorn and Eric Saylors have remained at it's core. Doug Henthorn remarks, "Eric and I have seen lots of ups and downs with this band, but we've always focused on writing and playing the music for ourselves - it's totally self serving - but I think it resonates with true music fans as well as the talented people we've been honored to worked with." As heard throughout "Bluejay", the band continues to grow and prosper. Healing Sixes are always about emphasizing that their songs create a strong, vibrant - yet never formulated - rock sound. Healing Sixes are just hitting their stride with "Bluejay" and look ahead with the same determination and focus that has brought this band to the top of the heap.
