dots and shields was the first solo venture for songwriter Jon Wood. one album was self-released in 2005 called 'a novella about flying in pods'. soon after the crap of hidden gems was released he co-founded the band 'heavy hometown'. dots and shields was the solo songwriting platform for JON as he is the kind of guy who is constantly writing songs. this is the lo-fi sounds, the bedroom pop, the 4-track valla vista. whatever that means. anyhoo, dots and shields morphed into DIGITAL DOTS when JON was no longer playing with the band he co-founded. cue the patsy cline version of 'crazy'. maybe one day this project will be revisited. but for now i will post old songs from this era. from outerspace we are all just a bunch of buzzing dots, and you better have a shield if you want to survive.
