About: | Former members of Brazil, Loretta and Jim Fix come together in this no frills, in your face rock band. Schooled in the DIY hardcore/punk culture of the 1990s, but flavored with the spacey heavy riffs of bands like Hum, Sunny Day Real Estate and Local H, Maravich have been a part of the Indianapolis independent music scene since roughly 2007. The original lineup featured Jim Rawlinson on guitar and voclas, Benjamin Hunt on drums and Kris Peterson (ex-About the Fire) on bass. Ian Phillips (Horizon, Wasteland DC, Razor Shines, Rise Over Run) came on board for the formative years of the band and then the lineup was solidified when former Loretta bassist Jim Shaffer replaced him. Maravich feature heavy guitars and huge drums battling it out over anthemic melodies. They have a number of DIY releases and released their first full length LP "When Am I Now" in 2018.

2018,
When Am I Now is the debut full-length LP from long-time post-punk indie band Maravich. Schooled in the DIY hardcore/punk culture of the ‘90s and comprised of former members of Brazil, Loretta, and Jim Fix, Maravich have been a no-frills, in-your-face, three-piece rock band in the Indianapolis music scene since 2008. The ten songs of When Am I Now were written and recorded with a focus on capturing a full, multi-layered sound while maintaining the high energy found in their live performances. Thematically, the album spins around the Vonnegut inspired idea of timeline hopping. Songs focus on loss, personal growth and life lessons from the future, with sci-fi/pop culture references throughout. Striving for a raw, scopic listening experience, the album features a minimum of overdubs, including the instrumental "Hertzian Waves,” which was recorded in one take with no additional editing.
2013,
Recorded and mixed by Rob Haley in Indianapolis. While "Goonies" and "In the End" are very much in line with most of Maravich's catalogue and went on to be regular parts of their live shows, the other two songs featured here are more low key and a bit of a departure from the rest of their work.
A collection of demos we put out. "No More Heroes" is off a 2008 recording we did with Tim Smiley in Bloomington, IN. Ian left the band shortly after the recording. "Prefontaine" and "Kokomo Hum" were recorded in 2009 and were part of Jim Shaffer's first recording with the band. Captures the peak of the early era with Ian and the turn we took when Jim joined.
2008,
Self-recorded and released. This is the first official Maravich recording. Features original bassist Ian Phillips on backup vocals and bass. Brash and cocky, this captures the essence of our basement show days while we were still figuring out where we wanted to go.
