Local Music Series Comes to Flat12 Bierworks

This Wednesday night, February 22, from 8-10 p.m. catch the Flat12 Garage Sound Series. This month’s featured artists are local favorites Hex Mundi and Indianapolis newcomers Robin Goodfellow. Hex Mundi will feature tracks from their new EP, Colors & Codes, while Robin Goodfellow will debut their “Bard Rock” sound. The venue is 21+ and includes no cover cost.

Flat12 Bierwerks brewer Erik Fox began the Sound Series in fall of last year. With a PA usually utilized for comedy and karaoke, bringing live music to the space seemed to him like a logical step. Fox has been part of the Indiana music scene as a member of bands like Rodeo Ruby Love and Osteoferocious. Today, he continues as a local musician with rising groups like Uh and Drunken Guns. In his role as brewer, he seeks to add more to the burgeoning Indianapolis music scene. As he states, “Music is a defining thing in my life – second to beer now.”

The brewery’s taproom provides a low-key atmosphere for the 21+ crowd with a time slot befitting of early risers and pre-gamers alike. A brewer often rises for their work as early as 4 a.m., and Fox intends the 8 p.m. start time for Garage Sound Series to be accommodating to all the working folks out there, along with those just starting their night out. As the weather warms, he hopes to move the Sound Series from the taproom to Flat12’s expanding beer garden. For the time being, the Garage Sound Series is a time to tap a special beer and enjoy the latest in-varied genre locally grown music in an inviting space.

Visit Flat12 Bierwerks’ Facebook page for more details and for updates on future installments in the Garage Sound Series.
