Now, having watched the video (possibly even having watched it twice) you know that stuff gets smashed. "Where did the guys in Air Hockey get all those TVs to break?" That question is irrelevant; the entire universe exists in this video's 52 seconds. And, for the 43 seconds that the song itself "Gullible is Literally in the Dictionary" bursts out of whatever device tries to hold it, it sounds and feels somehow exactly like what it must feel like to lock yourself in the basement with a few old TVs and a few baseball bats and a few of your buds. It feels like the moment a fire suddenly lights and swishes up all the oxygen it can reach. It is a sugar rush straight to whatever part of the brain is most assidious in its uptake of sugar (I'm no neuroscientist). 

"Gullible is Literally in the Dictionary" is off of Air Hockey's debut self-titled EP--the very same one that was recently added to the MFT archive and that you can stream above. The whole thing is a laser-focused direct appeal to the senses. The songs are mostly the briefest wallops of emo-inflected fury, occasionally drifting in the direction of the twinkly, but largely just heavy as hell. 

The entire group moves as a unit, but for me, there's something that puts the heaviness over the top that's coming out of the sizzling heat of the electric guitar sound (the high frequencies crackle literally like grease off bacon). The volume pots must be only milimeters from feedback territory. This is the appeal, though, of the band generally. Even across dynamic and tempo shifts, everything comes out sounding like it's in some way pushed right up to the edge. All at once: intensity, volume, velocity.
