Stop me if you have heard this one: A tattooed punk, recently released from jail, and some Native American guy with a black eye are selling merch at a local art festival when up walks a very well groomed black guy with a beard Sounds like a joke, but in actuality it is the birth of a strongly formed friendship amongst the members of Little Boots and Drusilla. Long loves lost, tragic deaths and cross country moves are just a small number of components that have fueled the birth of Indianapolis's newest music outfit. The Little Boots rhythm section is held down by long time friends and band mates Thomas Fisher (drums) and Travis Hawkins (bass). A chance meeting with recent L.A. to Indianapolis transplant Shawn Woolvolk (guitar and vocals) provided the missing puzzle piece. Not dissatisfied, but ready to step outside some of the limitations and stereotypes of being punk/metal kids, they have slowed the tempo down and focused their musical energies on a simpler, more laid back approach to writing. With a darkly passionate and somewhat ambient approach the trio completed five songs within the bands first two practices. From the beginning the rules were easy: it must be a pleasure to play, it must be kept straight forward and simple, it must be a heartfelt glance at personal demons.
