INDIANAPOLIS: 2005-present. Somewhere between the angular gang of four revival sound and the dying, drunken breathes of post-hardcore lay Thin Fevers. Born of the post euro-tour blues of Mara'akate, the timely demise of Saraswati, and guys living too close to one another, Thin Fevers attempt to find that pocket between hook laden dance rock and aggressive noise. Brian Wyrick (guitars), Antonio Leiriao (vocals), and Ben Traub (drums) were hungry to keep developing a sound heard near the end of their time together in Mara'akate. With the addition of Matt Chandler (bass), the writing of dance songs with a strong propensity to allow for fist pumping became fun and fluent. Songs written were played out with such a mish-mash of other bands that no one, including local media or fans, could classify what was happening. Songs were recorded, released as two separate EPs (the first red, the second blue), limited to 100 each. The band was praised for its fun shows and even got a police escort home after a gig at the Red Room as part of MMS 2005. Chandler left the city for the adventure of New York and currently Travis Hawkins (bass) takes four string duties.
