Michelle Marchesseault- Vocals. Paul Cauchi- Acoustic Guitar. Kent Jolly- Guitar. PJ Christie- Bass. Jon Ceilingwalker- Drums. LonPaul Ellrich- Drums. Indianapolis/Bloomington c 1989-93. Launched from the Brand X scene in Indianapolis, the industrial loft that featured a popular Open Mic, The Gerunds started as a 3 piece with Kent, Michelle, and Paul. PJ and Jon turned the acoustic combo into a full band as the band went to work playing gigs in Bloomington, Chicago, and Louisville behind the three song cassette recorded by Paul Mahern.

A move to Bloomington in 1991 proved to be the creative spark that brought out Our Son, again recorded by Mahern. In 1992 the band parted with Jon Ceilingwalker and brought in LonPaul Ellrich on drums with a newer sound. Never afraid to experiment, always with a sensitive folkie side, The Gerunds were in some ways a prototype for Sardina, but also as an interesting band on its own.
