Plaxton & the Void was born on a chilly autumns eve. When one young Plaxton was contemplating the meaning of life underneath a canopy of rustling tree tops. The rest is history.

Old friends and previous band-mates Joel Squires (acoustic, vocals) and Joshua Jacoby (electric, vocals), armed with an idea for a certain kind of sound, got together and wrote the first songs that would define what would become Plaxton & the Void. Acoustic with touches of electric guitar and Joel’s vocals was the recipe. After some early successes on stage a carefully thought out decision was made to bring in Dave McCall (bass) and Tom Wagoner (drums) to add the final touches. Dave and Tom’s previous work together made them the perfect fit. The idea was to keep the music simple yet powerful. Dynamics was everything. After only a few months they were ready to go. The band’s first show, as a full band, was well received and many were blown away at their initial performances. Armed with that information, they went back into the practice session, tweaked and polished and are ready to show the world what they’ve got. The final product, songs that you will want to hear over and over again.
