2011, Rad Summer,
When Oreo Jones debuted his Halloween costume last year Black Fabio, no one expected it to spawn a concept mixtape that keeps you dancing and laughing front to back. Nine months later and with the help of Action Jackson, that is exactly what's been created. Just as Fabio was never constrained by wearing a shirt, OJ and Jackson chose not to be encumbered by genre and drew from anything including rap to post-punk to moombahton. The "Black Fabio" mixtape is an unique collection of 14 tracks that tell the saga of the titular character. Starting with the title track and moving forward through "Niagara Falls", Oreo and Action prove why they are two of the most creative emerging artists. "Black Fabio" is available for FREE DOWNLOAD or STREAM now!
2010, Heavy Gun Recordings,
When a city embraces a new artist, it only feels right to give back to the community. In that spirit, for his upcoming Oreo Jones and Friends EP, Oreo has joined forces with X103, Butler Scion, My Old Kentucky Blog, and Heavy Gun Recordings to assist VH1's Save The Music. Protecting music programs in our schools is a cause near and dear to Oreo as his mother and aunts are public school teachers. The project features collaborations between Mr. Jones and Jookabox, Woodhands, BLKNHBD, We Are Hex, Laura Balke, Grey Granite, and J. Brookinz. The EP will be released on Thursday, January 13th for free, with listeners being encouraged to donate whatever possible to Save the Music via Heavy Gun's Bandcamp. All money donated through the Band Camp will be passed along to VH1's Save The Music. The release will also be accompanied by a free show and benefit raffle at Local's Only that night with performances from Oreo, Jookabox, Andy D., and Grey Granite.
2010, Heavy Gun Recordings,
On April 1st, Heavy Gun Recordings proudly released the new EP from Oreo Jones and 90lbs. Entitled The Delicious EP, the project takes you to a time when hip-hop was creative, witty, and most importantly FUN! Oreo’s spitfire rhymes are filled so many references that you’ll have to replay each track several times to get them all and they are perfectly complimented by 90’s precision production.
Oreo Jones has been steady grinding in the Indianapolis hip-hop community for the past couple of years and is now ready for his debut release on Heavy Gun. We hope you agree!
