About:
“Does ‘feminist’ mean large unpleasant person who'll shout at you, or someone who believes women are human beings? To me it's the latter, so I sign up.”
~Margaret Atwood

The Embraceables is a musical matriarchy that seeks to explore the mythology of the sexually liberated female and problematic social identity. Somewhere between the sinewy song-birdness of Nora Jones and the masculine, in-your-face trash rock of Peaches, The Embraceables is a self-proclaimed tramp who revels in the juxtaposition ...  read more

  • This group is awesome! I Googled The Embraceables to see if it had any info on the band I was in, in New Jersey . It was during the mid 1960s. I was the drummer and came up with the name The Embraceables. We played gigs mostly in New Jersey with our longest gig being a full summer gig in 1963 at the Chatterbox on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, N.J. Unfortunately, the building which housed the Chatterbox was obliterated by the hurricane Sandy, along with the entire stretch of the boardwalk. I guess all good things must come to an end. But until then, the Embraceables should rock on and continue getting out your message!.

  • One word. Amazing! I remember Erick drumming for Revel in the Morning and they were my favorite band in college for the short period of time they were available. I like this band that much based on the few tracks I have heard.
