About: | Crescent Ulmer is a singer/songwriter based out of Bloomington, IN, but originally from Indianapolis. A recent Kickstarter success has seen production and completion of her first ever full length album titled, "Creature Comforts" the realease of the album will be March 13th. With combinations of standard folk sounds, indie rock sounds, and world sounds, the album creates many moods. Crescent began back in 2010 playing shows around the state of Indiana. After she graduated from highschool she headed down to Bloomington and hit the scene hard. After three years of hardwork she saw her name on the Bishop Marquee as headliner. Developed a wonderfully supportive fan base, and has had the privilege to open for some great artists including Laura Stevenson. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of the music. Much love, Crescent. |

2014, 2hulahoops,
Crescent Ulmer's first full-length release.
"I feel like this is the perfect first release for me. When I went into the studio I just had a bunch of songs I'd been knocking around for four years, some written for projects I was in, some that were written when i was in high school, some that I had written just before going in the studio. So when we got started I feel like I spent the first three months tracking, trying to figure out what the heck I even wanted to say, what this whole album was even going to be. so i just started in reverse, going over demos and identifying the timeline. And when I heard all of the songs, I realized that I had been writing this whole story of transition in tiny bits and pieces over the course of years. I feel like from the first track to the last is this really great summation of all those "firsts" when you go from being a "teen" or whatever into an "adult". you know, the first heartbreak, that moment you and your friends grow apart, the lonely existential crisis, understanding your sexuality and self-esteem, and then bringing that all full circle and beginning to at least try to develop new and healthy opinions of yourself and others" Which, you know, when I was playing shows and performing these songs, I didn't realize I was saying this to myself." So, to go from 25 songs to 10 specific songs, feels great because I think it really tells my story
